Test Three

note: Thoughts and inability of writers to produce rebellion.

“This maybe true in theory but does not apply in practice”. Immanuel Kant writes – theorizing is an activity. Weather you believe in this or not. If you are practicing something, you are in fact also inscribing in your work a theory, which perhaps others can read. If you have a prejudice of being against theory, you won’t read it.

Test Eleven

We don’t want to take over the whole thing, we want to remain in the margins and be listened to from time to time, we are like the “Memento Mori” – in the conner of the room.

Creativity is the process, the goal is in the wonderful process, in itself. How do we set up an environment, situation in which the process of human creation through constant correction takes on a form that is universal?

The view that does not exist.

I don’t believe in neutrality. There’s no objectivity in art. Art is not a system, not a world: it’s an area of struggle and conflict, of competition, animosity and suspicion. That’s why I’m always irritated by any systemic approach to art: as though art production is like shoe production. You have to decide what you want to advertise, what your ideological position is, what you want to make known. Of course, you’re no longer interested in criticizing anything; you’re interested in forwarding what you think is interesting for you, what should be regarded as interesting for culture in which you are living, what you’re ready to support. If you make a bad judgement, and support something that fails in a non-interesting way – because it may fail interestingly – then it was a bad choice. It’s about taking risks. - notes from the Boris Groys interview.

Polite questions to The Four Horsemen:

1. What power have you got?

2. Where did you get it from?

3. In whose interest do you exercise it?

4. To who you are accountable?

5. And how can we get rid of you?

Series of auras * if you will, but without narrative.

A photograph that belongs to an archive. A field of comparison where something is excluded and included at the same time. I don’t remember when and where I took those photographs.

. . . and so the Voice-Over abruptly mumbles something like:

Conservatives advocate blessed ignorance. Representatives of the Enlightenment tradition advocate to persist at the knowing. Which ideological constellation sustains this “pursuit of happiness”?
